EDIT 6300: Finished, almost

December 15, 2008

I’ve just posted your grades.  You probably know this, but a reminder is in order. At UGA,  there is no such thing as an A+.  “A” is as high as it gets, although A-, B+, etc., are all available.

Course evals: 92% submitted. Thanks!  (I’m still chasing 2 people via email – if you haven’t done yours, here’s the link.)

Now, Happy Holidays!  This blog goes on hiatus as of right now, until around January 5th.

I’m not going anywhere, though – if you need me, you can find me via the usual means.  Although I’ll take a lot of time off, I will be happy to help.

This blog will continue as the EDIT 6340 blog in the spring.

Course Evals: 75%!

December 9, 2008

Great!  thanks!

Today I’ll remind people directly to get them done.

Saturday update

December 6, 2008

Aren’t you glad we don’t have class today?   I miss you, of course, but it feels like a holiday not to be driving up I-85 right now!

I’m deep into PDEPs.  I’ve completed 5 so far.  These take over an hour each to evaluate. I am providing a highlighted version of your PDEP document and an audio commentary for each one to explain my thinking.  So far, the projects have been quite excellent.  I am grading them in the order received.

Here are some stats and some reminders:

  • Course evals: 54% complete.   So we have a way to go – please get this done.  Thanks to the one-half that has completed it!
  • Research permission and E-permission: here we are doing much better.  In each case, 3 have not submitted – the same 3 people.  Go to WebCT 6300/Dropbox and download these brief documents, write your name in as a “signature,” and upload it again. Ten minutes, tops.

Also, three people need to put something in their PDEP dropboxes!  You won’t be able to see any feedback, or a grade, until you do this!

I won’t bug the whole group for these individual reminders again, I promise. But for today, I thought you would all like to see where we stand as a group.  I heartily appreciate that I am not having to remind 21 people individually about these things!  The majority of you can sit back and say “I did that already! Yay!”

Field Experiences finished!

December 2, 2008

Finally.  Sorry it took so long – but I did keep within the 2 week-period, and I’ve been keeping up with a 7-day return cycle for all early submissions for everything.

This field experience assignment has inherent value, and I never provide much feedback on these. Exceptions are when I see something that must be addressed, or if there is a deduction – those are explained.  Check your dropbox for these cryptic bits of feedback.

Today’s report on course eval returns: 13%.  Thanks to these 3 people.

Post-Thanksgiving Updates

December 1, 2008

Hello! I hope you all had happy Thanksgivings.

So today is the day!  Everything due.

I’ll be on the road today, and so the best way to reach me is by cell.  Given the overall quietness as many people have submitted their final documents over the past few days, I’m not expecting a high level of panic. But if you need me, my number is on the WebCT homepage.

Your course eval is now available.

When you’re all done, celebrate!  And send me some sympathy as I start reading through the many wonderful things I “get” to grade. :-)
