Hello!
I do get the feeling that there is some stress out there. Summer courses are tough, and when we add the stress of portfolios to that, it just gets worse. I do have sympathy.
Please remember that your portfolio should be complete now. Your advisor – whichever one it is – is stressed. Time is short. The committee needs to review it starting a week from now. There are many to review.
Yes, I ‘ve just added to your stress. But this has to be a high priority.
If you’re my advisee, check your email if your portfolio has not yet been “released” to the committee.
All done – thank you!
Congratulations to our Cohort 8 graduates!
I’m happy to be finished with grading.
The spring interns have done a great job at the course evals so far. I’m guessing only one person hasn’t, judging by the numbers. If it’s you, please do it asap.
I look forward to Graduation tomorrow!
Head on over to the COE Course Eval site and fill it out – if you’re a registered intern.
The good news is that I’ve graded every internship that was submitted up through Friday – with only a couple left to do. Thank all of you who submitted early. I’m normally completely overwhelmed by internship documentation at this time of year, but since so many of you submitted early, I’ve been able to take my time and enjoy them!
Hello! Separate reminders for Spring and Summer interns:
A reminder for currently registered interns (Spring semester): I’m sure I don’t need to remind you that all documentation is due Sunday May 2. Here is something often overlooked: make sure your mentor has filled out the eval form. When received, I post a note on your discussion board. Often, they need a friendly reminder, and this form can be a serious hold-up in getting everything checked off.
Grading is moving along! I finished another internship today; it’s good to get some things out of the way before next week’s rush.
In case you haven’t heard, the Marathon went great! It was fun to have a chance to talk at length with each graduating student.
For registered Summer interns: I realize that I’ve posted varying deadlines here and there that conflict with each other. I will try to clean this up. For now, be reminded that one week from now is the right time to have completed up through Step 7. I’ll follow up individually as necessary.
For intern class tomorrow — I should have said this earlier — if you want to eat of the communal pizza, fill in the form by 6pm!
And I will see you at *10am.*
Can you believe it?
Business reminders:
Let’s finish off with festivity. We’ll order pizza. If you like, you could bring chocolate or other sorts of sweets. Here’s a form for your pizza order. Bring a few dollars in small denominations for payment, if you decide to join in. (If someone has made some other party plans, please let me know asap!)
It would be great for already-graduated Cohort 8 folks to come — so if you’re out there listening, feel free to show up around noon and join the party!
Hello!
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow at 10am. The agenda is mostly ready. As always, we will talk over some business and any other topics that you want to raise.
May graduates: thanks to Dr. Clinton and Liz, we now have a working schedule for the Marathon. More about that tomorrow.
Summer graduates: now is the time to be finalizing your Program of Study. If you have a draft ready, tomorrow is a great day to bring it for review.
See you there!
